We left around 11:30am and headed out to Cheyenne, OK. We waited here for a couple of hours until the storms finally started to fire to our west and southwest. From here we headed west just over the TX/OK border to the town of Shamrock, TX. A nice looking cell was heading right for us and just after it passed through the Shamrock area, heading NE, it went tor-warned. From here we followed the storm to the town of Reydon, OK and were able to sit here for a while and watch the storm produce several wall clouds. At one point in time the storm had three well defined rotating wall clouds with it at the same time!
We could not follow this storm any further since we were chasing for KSBI and they wanted us to pull off of that storm and head east to intercept some of the other storms that were forming in southwestern OK and moving to the northeast. By the time we got to these storms they did not look all that impressive and we called it a night around 9:30pm. All in all we drove 500 miles in 12 hours.
What we saw:
Severe Storms – 2
Tor-warned Storms – 1
Tornadoes – 0
