As soon as classes ended on Thursday, April 22, 2010, my fellow storm chasers (Charles Lubensky, Terran Kirksey, and Matt Shipe) and myself headed out towards Goodnight, TX for what looked to be a good day of chasing. A few of my classmates also decided to tag along this day and for several of them this was their first tornado. We found a nice open field about 2 miles east of Goodnight, TX and watched a wall cloud for about 10-15 minutes before it produced multiple tornadoes. We followed this storm for another hour or so and watched it produce several more tornadoes. By days end we had seen a total of 6-9 tornadoes, the most we have ever seen in a day by far! Below is some of the footage we took on this day. Enjoy!
What we saw:
Severe Storms – 2
Tor-warned Storms – 2
Tornadoes – 6 – 9
